This is currently the most popular material. It is the best optically and very durable. Fitted correctly will give years of service. Acrylic is a useful, plastic that resembles glass but has properties that make it superior to glass in many ways.
Acrylic is used to make various products, such as shower doors, bath enclosures, windows and skylights. It is chosen over glass for many reasons. It is 17% stronger than glass, making it much more impact resistant and therefore safer. Falling against an acrylic shower door will not likely break it and baseballs that crash through glass windows will, in most cases, bounce off acrylic.
Another great advantage of acrylic is that it is only one-sixth as heavy as glass, virtually identical in weight as Polycarbonate
We supply all of our mirrors with fixtures, fittings and user friendly instructions and recomend that the clear protective film should not be removed until after the mirror is fitted in position
Our mirrors should be mounted to a flat surface or a solid wood backing such as Plywood or MDF. If you have a flat, plywood lined wall then they can be mounted to that at an appropriate height. If you do not have a suitable surface to mount your mirror then we strongly advise you purchase a mirror with one of our weatherproof MDF backboards, to ensure optimum performance and safety, and avoid any distortions.
